Privacy Policy
Last updated: 14 July 2026
Music Player ("the app", "we", "us") is developed by One Tap Tools. This policy explains what information the app does and does not handle. The short version: the app is built to work entirely on your device, and it is designed so we never see your music or your listening habits.
1. The principle
Music Player is an offline-first application. It plays audio files that are already stored on your device. It does not require an account, a login, or an internet connection to function. We do not run servers that receive your personal music library.
2. Information the app accesses on your device
To do its job, the app reads data locally on your device. This data stays on your device unless you explicitly choose to move it.
- Audio files and media metadata — song titles, artists, albums, artwork, lyrics and folder locations, so your library can be scanned and organized.
- Playback and preference data — playlists, favorites, play counts, equalizer presets, sleep-timer and app settings, stored locally so your setup persists between sessions.
- Files you choose to edit — when you use the tag editor, artwork editor, or file management tools, the app modifies the files you select. Nothing is uploaded.
3. Permissions we request
- Storage / media access — required to find and play your audio files and to save artwork or edited tags.
- Notifications — to show playback controls and the media notification.
- Alarm / scheduling — used only if you enable the music alarm or sleep timer.
You can revoke any permission in your device settings; the related feature will simply stop working.
4. Data we collect
The app does not collect, transmit, sell, or share your personal data or your music library. There are no ads, no advertising identifiers, and no third-party tracking or analytics SDKs embedded for the purpose of profiling you.
5. Optional connected features
Some features are optional and only reach the internet if you turn them on:
- Scrobbling — if you enable it, listening data is sent to the third-party service you configure, under that service's own privacy policy.
- Online artwork / lyrics lookup — if used, a search query may be sent to a third-party provider to fetch matching artwork or lyrics.
These features are off by default. When enabled, the third party you connect to is governed by its own terms and privacy policy, not this one.
6. Children's privacy
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
7. Data security & retention
Because your data stays on your device, its security is tied to your device's own protections. Uninstalling the app removes its local data. Backups you create are stored wherever you choose to save them and remain under your control.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a revised "last updated" date. Continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
